WEEK OF MARCH 30- APRIL 3 (Week 3)
- K- Warm-Up, “I’m So Glad To Be Here” (flipgrid), “Elephants Have Wrinkles”, Rhythm Exercise (tas & titis) on VMM website, sing one of the GFS School Songs, listen and learn a new song: “THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND”
- 1- Warm-up, “I’m So Glad To Be Here”, “Elephants Have Wrinkles”, review Music Opposites and practice rhythms by clapping to “In The Hall of The Mountain King”, dance a school dance (“Everybody” by Ingrid Michaelson)
- 2 – Warm-up, Practice Keeping A Steady Beat while listening to Mozart (Keeping The Beat), Rhythm Exercise (tas & titis) on VMM website, Choose a song to sing from the “Underground Railroad”, dance “SASHA” with a family member (thanks to Mrs. Sugrue-Tait from LLS for making this slide for us), finish your lesson by dancing and singing “EVERYBODY” by Ingrid Michaelson.
- 3 – Warm-up, Practice Keeping A Steady Beat (to Aaron Copland “Rodeo; Hoedown”, Learn more about composer AARON COPLAND (one of Mrs. Propp’s favorite composers) and take a short quiz on the “Classics For Kids” website; Rhythms (stage 2) on VMM; Note Reading (Note Racer); sing “Sweet Betsy From Pike” with Wee Sing America; try a RECORDER CHALLENGE (play “Sweet Betsy From Pike”)
- 4 – Requested an email from kids asking them to tell me if they remember how to use NOTEFLIGHT, then Warm-Up, Body Percussion, RHYTHMS, Note Reading, Review Hoedown songs from 3rd grade on recorer, Kidzbop Dance, Music Theory (Brain Pop), School Song: It Makes A Difference.
- 5 – Warm-up, Body Percussion, Rhythm Work (VMM), Note Reading (Note Racer), Play Recorder (several options), Practice your MUSIC THEORY (Brain Pop), DJ OF THE WEEK (I’m the DJ), Sing a school song: “It Makes A Difference”.

- K-Suzanne’s Kindergarten Presentation (4/6-4/10) WARM-UP, “It’s So Good To See You”, LISTENING WALK (listen to a book, go on a walk), sing/move to “Walk and STOP!”. 2nd class: WARM-UP, “It’s So Good To See You” Read Rosie’s Walk, take another Listening Walk.
- 1- Suzanne’s 1st Grade Presentation (4/6-4/9) WARM-UP, “It’s So Good To See You”, Listen & keep a silent steady beat (Beethoven’s 3rd), Rhythm Review (with the Obies), listen to Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin (on BookFlix), learn About BEETHOVEN (podcast), Watch video (“Ode To Joy”), DANCE (to disco: A 5th of Beethoven), Watch Line Rider to Beethoven’s 5th
- 2 – Suzanne’s 2nd Grade Presentation (4/6-4/9) similar to 1st, with a new “Musical Notation” explanation video.
- 3 – Suzanne’s 3rd Grade Presentation (4/6-4/9): Warm-Up, Body Percussion (Boom, Snap, Clap), Recorder (C scale, “Alabama Gal” and challenge: “Ode To Joy”), Beethoven podcast, “Ode To Joy” video, Dance to “A Fifth of Beethoven”) and Line Rider to Beethoven’s 5th.
- 4 – Suzanne’s 4th Grade Presentation (4/6-4/10) similar to 1st & 2nd but with new “Boom, Clap, Snap” Body Percussion videos, recorder playing, “Fur Elise” video & Line Rider and a non-assessable compare/contrast activity with two different Beethoven’s 5th dance performances.
