Song of the Day: August 8

August 8:  You’d be surprised, there’s so much to be done… “House at Pooh Corner” written by Kenny Loggins and performed here by Loggins & Messina (though, originally recorded by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. )

UPDATE:  The video has been removed. 🙁

The beginning of the video is a little jarring, but I am grateful to have found a lyric video for this song; most of the Pooh Corner lyric videos appear to be for “Return To Pooh Corner”, also by Kenny Loggins and sung by Kenny Loggins, Amy Grant & Gary Chapman.)    LYRICS & SONGFACTS  SPOTIFY

Song of the Day: August 5

August 5:  You have come and it has changed my whole world… “So Amazing” written and sung by Luther Vandross.  Every year on the first Sunday in August, riders* in the Pan Mass Challenge complete a very long bike ride to raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.  (Some even meet and fall in love on that special day.) Congratulations and love to all (and a special shout out to the Lone Pine Lane/Tamarac and Old Hill Road/East Meadow Birthday Girls.)    LYRICS  SPOTIFY

* Thanks to all riders and especially our friends Marci Blacker, Melissa Gitlin, Lori Vener, Rob Rosen, Grant Rosen, Greg White, Dana White….

Song of the Day: August 3

August 3:  It’s my birthday and I want to let the music play… “Listen To The Music” written by Tom Johnston and performed by The Doobie Brothers.   LYRICS & SONGFACTS SPOTIFY

But this year, in keeping with my attempt to spread good karma through music to as many people as possible, my birthday request is more specific:
Please encourage one new person to subscribe to my singdaily.com e-mail newsletter.
This is a wholly philanthropic endeavor; no money has been spent by anyone except me, Peter and my mom (Thanks, Mom!) and zero profit has been made; I’m just itching to share my love of music with more people.

Thanks, in advance, for your kind gift. 🙂

Love & World Peace – Suzanne

Song of the Day: July 31

July 31:  I’m savin’ my love for you… ‘“Ain’t Misbehavin'” written by Fats Waller, Andy Razaf & Harry Brooks and performed by Fats Waller in the movie “Stormy Weather” from 1943. (Here’s a lyric video so that you can sing along with Nat King Cole.)  Also, check out this animated movie about Fats Waller called “Jazz Time Tale”; it was the Propp kids’ favorite movie when they were in elementary school.   LYRICS & SONGFACTS  SPOTIFY
