Song of the Day: December 11

December 11:  Lots of fun… “Finnegan’s Wake”, a traditional Irish song sung by the Irish Rovers in celebration of Frank McCourt‘s musical The Irish…and How They Got That Way now playing at Capitol Rep in Albany (and featuring our friend, the talented Emily Mikesell). Happy Birthday to Gene Elder, in recognition of his love of James Joyce. According to Wikipedia: “The song is famous for providing the basis of James Joyce‘s final work, Finnegans Wake (1939), in which the comic resurrection of Tim Finnegan is employed as a symbol of the universal cycle of life.”  🙂 LYRICS & CHORDS SONG HISTORY SPOTIFY
