June 10: It’s life’s illusions, I recall; I really don’t know life at all…. “Both Sides Now” by Joni Mitchell.
For me, this song is about understanding that we think about the same things in many different ways, so it’s ironic to me that, as I searched for lyric videos, I learned that many people think that the first word of this song is “Rows” even though I would have sworn it was “Bows”.
(The “Joni Mitchell Anthology” and the “Great Songs of the Sixties” songbooks both say “Bows”, but the lyric page on the Joni Mitchell website says “Rows”. Here is an article that mentions the discrepancy.)
